Concept NULL x DAS Belfast: Meetup 03 | Open Projector

The third Concept Null meetup will be happening at DAS, and simultaneously online, on Saturday February 24th at 3pm.

Concept Null is a collective based in Limerick that connects artists across Ireland who might identify part or all their practice as New Media Art, while recognising individuals and groups who have contributed to this field over recent decades. They send out a bi-monthly newsletter highlighting happenings in the area of art and technology across Ireland and run periodic meetups, the next of which will be held at DAS. You can sign up to their newsletter via their website.

For this one we want to uncover some of the works that are being made by digital / new-media artists in Ireland & Northern Ireland, so we are looking for artists that would like to share their work with others in their digital / new-media / tech art community.

This event is open to everyone but there is limited space in DAS. Therefore, Meetup 03 is going to be made accessible for people who can’t make it in person, so we are also going to be streaming this event to the Digital Artists Ireland Discord. We will be emailing out the link for the livestream on the day.

There are two types of submissions:

1. In person in DAS Belfast

If you are able to make it to Digital Arts Studios in Belfast on the 24th of February, you can present your work as a video, performance or demo.

2. Online through video

If you cannot make it to Belfast we are also accepting submissions of videos of works. These works themselves can be screen-based or the videos submitted can be documentation of the work. We will have the discord chat projected in the room with us in Belfast, so questions, feedback etc will be communicated with the artist through the discord. To keep the set up simple and the event on time, we will not be accepting live performances through Discord. Everything has to be pre-recorded and submitted beforehand.

If you would like to share your work, please fill out the following google form:

Google Form

The showing of the work will be followed by discussions where you can get feedback, share ideas etc. Works being shown can be completed or in-progress. Submissions of presentations that will be done in person will be prioritised for a time-slot over submissions from people online.

DAS has a limited capacity so be sure to secure your place via the Eventbrite link:
