June Hill

Home Residency

Artist Intro

Currently completing her MFA at Ulster University, June's practice is primarily installation-based employing projectors and sculptural props.

Recent projects have involved the use of materials such as metal pipes, steel rods and concrete moulds; sometimes found objects, other times purposely made, but usually entailing everyday materials.

I have an interest in “time and the everyday happenings". Recent influences include Georges Didi-Huberman (Glimpses) and Marc Auge in particular (Non-place).

Other artists I admire include Christian Boltanski, John Smith, Janet Cardiff and Yayoi Kusama.

I am hoping to use the D.A.S project to learn new technologies such as projection mapping and immersive technologies that will enable me to build better installation.
