Marie-Thérèse Davis is a visual artist and musician, contributing to the arts in Northern Ireland and beyond for over 30 years. Her focus over the years has been painting; narrative painting, figurative painting and drawing exploring the human body. She has also experimented with print- making, ceramics and digital art. Recently however, during the pandemic, she has been introduced to music technology, song-writing, and sound production through the Mothers in Music Project via the Oh Yeah Centre, Belfast.
As a musician, I have worked as a music educator, teaching students to play woodwind and stringed instruments. Through this Digital Arts Studios Home Residency, I want to blend my visual art practice with sonic arts and use my voice as a means of expression. I am excited to have this opportunity to access to digital technology and online training to expand my creative practice. As an artist with an acquired disability, I have been supported by the University of Atypical and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
