Time: 10,11,12 & 26 March, 6 - 8.30pm
Location: Digital Arts Studios
Do you have a creative code / interactive / digital art project you are stuck on? Can’t get your code to compile or perhaps you have an idea but don’t know where to start? Bring it to the workshop where we will help your project along. Write ahead with details of your ideas / project / problems / queries and over three evenings we will work on it together and arrive at a list of tips and code examples to help you finish in your own time. Two weeks later there will be a follow up session to answer any further questions. We will be using MaxMSP / Jitter, Processing, Kinect and Arduino. Some prior knowledge is useful but beginners are very welcome.
MaxMSP/Jitter is graphical programming software used in installation and performance art, computer music, theater, VJ performance, data visualization, robotics, and much more.
Processing is a free programming language designed to facilitate the creation of sophisticated visual structures. These can be static, animated or interactive; displayed on screen or exported and made physical using a variety of printing techniques.
Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software.
Cost: £100 standard rate or £70 for DAS/VAI members
