Openframeworks is a free open source C++ toolkit for creative coding designed to assist the creative process by providing a simple and intuitive framework for experimentation. It is cross platform and can be used to create code on macOS, Windows, linux, iPhone and Android. Freely available, using open source code the API has attracted a good degree of support from a friendly online community. This has vastly expanded its capabilities through donated ‘add ons’ that can speed up code design.
In this introductory workshop we will cover setting up, the basics of 2D and 3D drawing, computer vision and interaction (using the web cam to interact with our drawings). There will be time set aside to address the individual interests and questions of participants.
The workshop costs £20 for DAS or VAI members, or £25 standard rate. Places are strictly limited so book early.
