Google Cardboard is a simple, affordable and fun way to experience virtual reality. Using the accelerometer and gyroscope found in an ordinary Android smartphone, the experience of virtual reality can be obtained without the use of expensive equipment like the Oculus Rift.
Furthermore we will show you how to create your own environments and landscapes in the game development software Unity and how to export these to your Android phone. At the end of the workshop you will have built your own 3-dimensional virtual space and be able to explore it using your own virtual reality headset!
This workshop offers a great opportunity for artists interested in utilising virtual or augmented reality in their art.
Google Cardboard viewers will be provided and are included in the cost of the workshop. The workshop costs £40 or £30 for DAS/VAI members. Only 10 places are available so early booking is recommended. Places will only be confirmed once payment has been received. To book your place on this workshop, please use the booking form below.
