We are delighted to announce that Elizabeth Withstandley will curate the DAS 2020 Annual Review. Elizabeth will select work by artists who have participated in the DAS residency programme in 2019. The exhibition will take place in the Golden Thread Gallery's Project Space, running from the 2nd of July to the 22nd August 2020.
Elizabeth Withstandley is from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She lives and works in Los Angeles, California. She is one of the co-founders of Locust Projects, a not-for-profit art exhibition space, in Miami, Florida. In 2019 she co-organised the "Searching for the Miraculous" 2019 Curfew Tower residency program with Westen Charles, a co-founder of Locust Projects. In 2018 she co-organised the exhibition "Smoke & Mirrors" at The Torrance Art Museum and "20/20 (Twenty artists in 20 hours)" at Locust Projects.
In addition to organising exhibitions and serving as the open call coordinator for Locust Projects, she is a practicing artist, focusing on video installation based work. Upcoming 2020 exhibitions include AC Institute in NYC, VisArts in Rockville, Maryland, Exgirlfriend in Berlin, Germany, Govan Project Space in Glasgow, Scotland. She is a 2020 AIREE fellow at the Everglades National Park in Florida in October 2020.
