DIY Typography workshop with Chloe Austin
This workshop will teach participants how to create a handmade typeface using Adobe Illustrator and free online font creation software such as Calligraphr or FontStruct.
Clip Studio workshop with PJ Holden
Clip Studio Paint is a painting program designed for comic artists but over the last 20 years, Clip Studio has matured into an excellent drawing program for any professional artist. Its features are on par with Adobe Photoshop and often outstrips Photoshop in many situations.
This workshop is intended as an introduction to using Clip Studio, its various tools and workflows. You will also learn how you can transition to it from photoshop or similar drawing software.
Making Through Words: Creating images using AI with Tadhg Charles
This workshop will introduce participants to rudimentary 2D image generation using online AI tools and discuss how they can be incorporated into their creative practice.
Creative Coding for Artists with Abra White
This workshop is designed to give artists a jumpstart into the world of coding. You will discuss the basics of coding, try some interactive activities, and create your own creative coding piece.

This 3-hour workshop provides a lightning-fast introduction to 3D modelling, animation, and game development using Blender and Unreal Engine. Explore the basics of creating 3D models, applying materials, and mastering animation essentials. Explore how to give functionality to your objects, turning them into interactive elements in your Unreal Engine 5 scene.
Sonic Sleuths workshop
Digital Arts Studios is excited to host another event as part of Sound of Belfast 2023.
This year we are hosting a workshop called Sonic Sleuths that will introduce you to field recording and how these sounds can be manipulated and used in your own music.
Late Night Art November - The Veil
Open for one night only… Come and experience this new audio visual installation by one of our previous residents, Cameron Clarke. The work is reminiscent of classic horror films that explores the idea of the veil between our world and the spirit underworld.

Our current international artist in residence Allison Maria Rodriguez will be exhibiting an installation at the Digital Arts Studios, featuring previous video work and work produced during her residency with us in Belfast.

Panel Discussion: Digital and Immersive Experiences
Digital Arts Studios is delighted to present the current international artist in residence Allison Maria Rodriguez in discussion with artists Dr Laura O’Connor and Dr El Putnam.
Beginning with a short presentation by Allison Maria Rodriguez, the panel will discuss immersion as an artistic strategy and consider how digital technologies augment our experiences of art.
VISIBLE MARKS//MATERIAL REMAINS Exhibition
The Future Labs Foundation Residency emerged from our Future Labs workshop programme as a dedicated residency to support new or emerging artists.
New work produced by the participating artists will be showcased at the Digital Arts Studios' new exhibition space, from Thursday 4th May until Thursday 1st June 2023
Anticipated Nostalgia Exhibition
Postponed due the recent fire at the Cathedral Buildings, we folk at DAS are even more delighted to present Anticipated Nostalgia, an eclectic exhibition showcasing works from the recent cohort of DAS Home Residents from north and south of the border and Pakistan.
So please do join us on Thursday the 3rd of November for the opening reception from 6-8pm, and Juanita Rea will give a live performance of She is with spoken work and music at 7pm.
NET//WORK 2 @ DAS Exhibition Opening Event
In October ’21 we once again opened our virtual doors to host four wonderful artists for the British Council #NetWorkResidency. Abshar Platisza joined us from Indonesia, André Schütz and Wisrah Villefort partook from Brazil, and Kesara Ratnavibushana participated all the way from Sri Lanka.
We are proud to exhibit the fruits of their labours in the Net//Work 2 online exhibition, which runs from 1/2/22 to 1/3/22 at http://dasnetworkresidency.com.

DAS is delighted to have participated once again in the British Council Net//Work Residency. We are proud to showcase how artists Abshar Platisza (Indonesia), Kesara Ratnavibhushana (Sri Lanka), André Schütz (Brazil), and Wisrah Villefort (Brazil) have progressed over the four-week residency.
